Scott Lunsford is an independent producer of soundwriting, and he teaches and researches about public writing and rhetoric at James Madison University. His daughters and he produce the podcast “Breed Cry Create.”  

Jay Varner teaches writing, reading, and research methods to first-year college students at James Madison University. He is especially interested in writing during and about the Anthropocene. He is the author of Nothing Left to Burn, the former managing editor of Ecotone: Reimagining Place, and former co-host/co-creator of the podcast Talus or Scree. He lives in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside Charlottesville, Virginia.
